Inter-school Swimming Competition (16th October, 2014 & 24th October, 2014)

2014-11-03 12:19:00

24th October 2014 was the day for St. Joseph's College. The Inter School Swimming Finals started at 9:00. Our C Grade Captain Chan Pak Hin (S1B) won the 200m Freestyle event over the 1st runner-up by 1 whole second. His victory filled every Josephian's heart with excitement and joy. Later in the afternoon, Chan Pak Hin even broke the 50m Butterfly record with 27.10s, stunning the crowd. A strong cheering team of 300 gave the loudest and strongest support to our swimmers. Our cheers were resounding through the Kowloon Park Swimming Pool.

In fact, every swimmer performed extremely well, especially in the C grade 4x50 m Freestyle Relay, in which our swimmers came first. The exciting news from the young blood brought us hope in recapturing the Overall Champion title after 22 years.

In the afternoon session, our swimmers fought their hardest battle and our cheering team members roared their loudest cries. The former continued to show our competitors their stamina. But the battle was harder than ever. Our team tried our best to achieve the greatest result, and we managed to get the 3rd in C Grade, the 2nd in A Grade, the 3rd in B Grade and had 2 interschool swimming records broken by our C Grade Captain Chan Pak Hin and A Grade Member Fung Chun Ho respectively. The overall position was the third.

Although we have lost again, we Josephians always stand as ONE. We will be back next year!
