It was a nice surprise when the sun appeared in the morning of the Swimming Gala day on 15th September, as it was pouring the day before. Over 100 Josephians competed in the 29 events. Congratulations to Jonathan Chow from 5A who leveled the record of 50-meter freestyle. Though we do not see too many new records set this year, the Victoria Park swimming pool was filled with enthusiastic new faces. There was overwhelming participation from the junior forms this year. These budding swimmers are going to succeed the retiring stars who will be graduating in the next year or two.
In the invitation relay, swimmers from brother school La Salle College grabbed the champion trophy beating Wah Yan by less than a 10-metre lead.
The day of excitement was concluded with the highlight event of the inhouse invitation relay among alumni, teachers, Students' Union , Prefects' Board and swimming team representatives. The Old Boys Team surprised most audience and captured the trophy.
