Message from the Principal

As we proudly celebrate the 150th Anniversary of St. Joseph’s College, let us take a moment to reflect on the school’s century and half of excellence, tradition, and service. Throughout its history, St. Joseph’s College has been a landmark in the landscape of education: it has served as grounds for nurturing talented Josephians into future pillars of society, and has stood steadfast in promising holistic education. As such, it is an incredible honour for me not only to serve as Principal in this school of trailblazers, but also to witness, as an alumnus, the magnificent year we have had.

Over the past year, we have had no shortage of achievements and successes: it has been a year full of celebrations, with a multitude of events honouring our sesquicentennial – the implementation of a St. Joseph’s-themed tram in public and our 150th Anniversary Grand Open Day, graced by over 14,000 visitors, are only some of the examples of the festivities that took place.

More importantly, however, was the celebration of our students’ achievements. Last year, our students have consistently demonstrated their all-round excellence. From outstanding academic results, particularly in the HKDSE exams, to remarkable accomplishments in sports, music, debating, science, and leadership, among others, Josephians have continued to put their dedication and brotherhood on full display. They inspire one another to aim high and brave through whatever hurdles stand in their way, and embody the Jospehian spirit that drives them to do the best they can wherever they go.

As our 150th Anniversary celebrations come to a close with our upcoming 150th Anniversary Gala Dinner in November, a fresh start begins both for the new school year and for St. Joseph’s next chapter. Together with our dedicated team of teachers and staff, I am excited to explore the path ahead of us, guided by our mission and vision to go forward with courage.

Josephians, are you ready?
