Privacy Statement

Please note that we are not using cookies in our website now. The part referring to cookies of the following statement is only a reference and will be in use again if we apply cookies to our website in future.

  1. Statement of Intent

Nowadays it is increasingly easy for personal information to be gathered on people: people like you. Sometimes this may be in ways - such as those described below - which you may not be aware of. Web Publishing Board wants to treat your personal information with the respect, which it deserves, as well as treating it in accordance with the law.

  2. Information on Visitors

During the course of any visit to Green and White Online, our server downloads the pages which you wish to see along with something called a Cookie to your computer. Most, if not all, web sites do this, and that's because cookies allow the web site publisher to do useful things like find out that the computer (and probably its user) has visited the site before. This is done on a repeat visit by checking to see, and finding, the cookie left there on the last visit.

Cookies do not identify the user of a computer and by themselves only record what areas of a site a computer has been used to visit. It is possible for anyone to set his or her computer so that cookies are not downloaded from the web site server, but most people do know about cookies and do not block them out. Obviously, if you object to Green and White Online - or anyone else - using cookies you should set your computer to block them.

Any information that is supplied by cookies can help us to provide you with a more tailored service and assist us to analyze the profile of our visitors. For example: if on a previous visit you went to, say, the news pages then the server might find this out from your cookie and highlight news information - which you would probably find interesting - to you on a second visit.

  3. Submitting Personal Information

The legal complications start when you submit personal information to us in the Registration of the Interaction section. First of all, we will ask for your consent to Web Publishing Board holding this personal information. To be sure that we start off with correct information, when you submit personal information to us, we ask you to check through the information in the cookies in your computer to ensure that it is accurate.

Once we are holding your personal details on our database then we have an obligation under the law to hold accurate information, and to let you know what we're holding if you want to know. We also need to collect the information fairly - which is one of the reasons why we're telling you all this.

  4. What we will and will not do with your information

What we will do is keep a record of your information. We will not pass your information on to third parties.
However your information will be exposed to other people when it comes to the Interactive Contact List. Other registered users will be able to read your information entered.
You should read any rules carefully and check the necessary box if you are happy for us to share your details. We will not pass on your details without your consent.

  5. What is a Cookie?

Green and White Online uses a text file known as a Cookie. Cookies are stored within your web browser and identify your computer to our server. They also enable us to record how often you visit the site and the areas you navigate within it. You can regularly check the cookie in your web browser.

  6. How to see your Cookie Code?

Just click on a cookie to open it. You'll see a short string of text and numbers. The numbers are your identification card, which can only be seen by the server that gave you the cookie.
